JLA Vs Avengers Base Colors by Blanca-Cardenas JLA Vs Avengers Base Colors by Blanca-Cardenas
Title says it all
I'll be adding more detail to the colors later.
But I figured I may as well upload just the base colors for now, since this is gonna take a while xD

The color and vibrancy compliment well, nice color composition. If you are going to add further detail later this might be something worth looking at: [link], used here: [link]. It was a rushed piece honestly but I had to move on to other things. I thought to use it as a tutorial regardless though. I would still recommend painting other colors in though if that's something you were considering. It will just make the colors and light refraction seem more natural, however, the dodging and burning will bring in more depth and details. :) Anyways, hope that is useful.

Thank you so much! I have been planning to go back and better it, but I decided to post the base colors in the meantime, since it was taking me so long to actually get to work on it.
I will definitely take a look and hopefully use your tutorial. I definitely need to develop my coloring skills by far and any help at all is greatly appreciated :D

Yeah I get that. I have a lot of WIPs that I plan on putting up. Hopefully that would help motivate me to get them finished, lol, or they might never get done. Plus it's pretty cool to watch the progressions. Glad you are open for help, I always am too. :) Hope that helps though I don't know what program you are using so that pretty much applies to Photoshop, not sure how you would handle that in another program. Hope you get the chance to finish that piece. If you do, definitely let me know as I don't always see my watch updates at times.

Will do :D I just hope it turns out ok. I may be fine at drawing people, but when it comes to coloring them in, playing with the lighting and the shadows and all the different colors, I find myself at sea. I get lost in the mechanics of it all, so they don't turn out so well once they're colored. I have a long way to go ^^;

Yeah I hear that. I can encourage you though that the more you dabble in this the better you will get over time and the easier it will become. Don't be too hard on yourself if this is something you are still getting into. I have some pieces that really intimidate me on a technical level too, though usually the bottleneck becomes my computer's processing power before me (I can get pretty ambitious and am very unorthodox in my ways). I'm pretty tenacious usually, but yeah I understand that sense of feeling a little lost in an image. Practice will help though for sure and you've got a ton of base talent. I really respect your traditional work. What program are you using btw?

Thank you so much! And I'm glad that I'm not alone in my struggles haha Although you are much better than I am at coloring by far! But as you said, it takes practice. I'm just starting to dabble in it, so I have a very long way to go ^^;
I use PS CS5 =)

Oh, nice program indeed. :) And no you are not alone, every artist will have his struggles in his/her own area. Everyone has room for improvement, some are just too proud to admit it. :)
